Yeager describes platform
In the interest of equal time, the “Willow Glen Times” questioned District 6 incumbent City Council-member Ken Yeager about his platform and what he wants to do if elected to a second term.
If elected, Yeager wants “to continue to improve the neighborhoods in District 6 including Willow Glen and to continue to focus on education and homework centers, new parks, libraries and reducing traffic congestion.”
He noted that as a councilmember he’s been successful in building new parks, such as Los Gatos Creek trail and the Guadalupe River trail. In addition, the City Council has purchased land for a new library on Bascom Avenue that will be built by 2006, when the current Willow Glen branch on Minnesota is being remodeled.
Education is one of his top considerations, Yeager said, especially continuing to provide homework centers in all Willow Glen schools.
“I also want to continue to work on reducing traffic congestion in District 6. That leads to continue improving Lincoln Avenue and having the city do what it can to ensure businesses on the Avenue are successful. One area of improvement is creating additional parking spaces and we are close to doing that,” he added.
